Sandy Smith is a law professional working in the Atlanta area, who has devoted himself to community service, mainly in the areas of healthcare, education and diversity. Sandy Smith was Founding Chair of Odyssey Atlanta, which is a joint venture between the Atlanta Public Schools and The Westminster Schools. The program aims to motivate and enrich the education of K-12 students. He also served as a member of the Stanford University Board of Trustees, and was recipient of the Stanford Medal.

 Sandy Smith of Womble Carlyle is Founding Chair of the Advisory Board of the Institute for Research in the Social Sciences at Stanford University (IRiSS), and serves on the Advisory Board of the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR). He was also Founding Associate of the Martin Luther King Jr. Papers Project. Throughout his career, he served on numerous boards, including The Paideia School, Prevent Blindness Georgia, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School, National Kidney Foundation of Georgia and Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
